The microwave bell often rings again and again after the cycle is done and the food has been removed. I can turn the circuit breaker off and on to reset it and it will work correctly for a while but the problem eventually returns.

From reveiwing all the good information on this site, I think the problem is the control board (Part Number AP4299768). My question is what is involved in replacing it? Does the new part just plug in or is there more to it? Will I need any associated parts like a new bracket for the installation? Finally, how do I access the control board--remove the control panel, remove the microwave and its top panel, or...?

Thanks for all the help!

Hi Tom,

You can find the complete disassembly instructions in the Service manual.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid microwave Model KBHS179SSS00
