My frig will not cool or freeze. I checked voltage to inverter board at condessor and it is there, but I don't think it comes on. Can some one tell me what the red and white wires going to the main board is. It says control signal but don't know what I'm looking for. Trying to see if I need a new main board or a inverter board on the condessor? Any help would be great.

Thank you

If nothing is running, most probably a bad motherboard AP3957581

No everything works all fans work inside, water comes out all temp lights work everything except get cold. The compressor never kicks on. I checked the voltage to the compressor and it is zero. I have the 115 there but its direct from the primary. So I was wondering if there is a signal that needs to come in from the main control board to that inverter board on that red and white wires. If you could tell me what those at they come off of J15 pin 1 and J15 pin 2 on main control board and go to inverter.
Thank you for the reply.

It still is probably a bad motherboard. You have no inverter in the fridg, just an encoder. If the fans are running, you have voltage to the motherboard and a failure of voltage the the compressor is an internal motherboard problem.

Under my model number in the parts break down sealed system page 2 item 871 says inverter. It plugs right into the compresser.

O, I missed that! If voltage to the inverter and the compressor fails to run, you probably have a bad inverter. For some reason it is not available from this site.

I was just wondering if the reason the inverter is not working it on is because it is looking for some sort of signal from a red and white wire from the main board and if I knew the signal type I could verify and get the right part. I have a fequence meter and volt meter as well a some other electronic testing equipment. Does anyone know what they are and what is suppose to be there? Also I have to buy another frig after doing some research every frig I have looked up has problems. Does anyone make a dependable side by side frig?

Also the voltage to the inverter board comes from the primary plug that goes into the wall that is why I was thinking I'm missing a signal voltage on those two wires.

I have never worked on one of these inverter models, hopefully someone else has.
I just put in my kitchen a Whirlpool s x s with the old style mechanical defrost timer, an energy saver one without fancy electronics. The new refrigerators are about 50% more efficient than the old pre Montreal protocol ones made prior to1995. Any additional savings with electronic controls do not produce anywhere near that and are probably not worth the extra expense and complexity that drives up repair costs making the unit, in some cases, not worth repairing.

Called GE and they won't help. Can anyone tell me were to go to get the signal values on those two wires so I can figure out if I need the main board or the inverter board.
