I am helping a friend repair kenmore washing machine model#110.22422100. Put in used transmission and washer shakes violently on spin after replacement. found small pin, flat on one side and it appears there are two of them, not sure where they go. appears I have something out of balance. laid machine down and pushed shaft up thru agitator. Need advice and diagram how parts go. Thanks

Those pins are not the problem. It may be that you do not have the transmission in correctly, but not likely. Operate it with the cabinet off by by-passing the lid switch and see if you can determine the problem. Check the base plate and the springs. If all else fails try replacing the springs.

Have replaced springs. I think baseplate that floats is out of alignment. The clutch spring on transmission installed is blue and the old one is black. Would changing clutch springs help? thanks for your reply

The important thing is that the new spring is the same size as the one from the old clutch. There are two different sizes.
The plate issue sounds like a good bet.
