My whirlpool dryer worked one day and then the next day it would not start. I have already tried flipping the breaker on and off, no sucess. IMy husband check and the machine is getting electric . The dryer is a little over 4 years old and has never had a problem. Any suggestions?

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL WED5310SQ0 29"ELECTRIC DRYER | AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram. Since your husband checked the power to the unit I assume that he has a meter. Could be that the thermal fuse on the blower wheel (Item 7 in Section 3) has blown. Unplug the unit and check the fuse with a meter should be 0 ohms. Be sure to disconnect one side of the fuse as this prevents reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. Jiggery Pokery method is. Unplug the unit. Remove both wires from the fuse, short them together and tape them up so they will not short to the frame. Plug the unit in and give it a try. If blown, replace the fuse ASAP as it is a critical safety device re: prevents lint fires which can turn into house fires. Also clean/check your vent system and the blower as these are the most common causes of it blowing. If the fuse is OK then check the door switch and then the push-to-start switch. |
