I am working on this air conditioner, the compressor continues to run with the unit turned off. What could be the problem?

:eek: This unit does not use a relay it is a Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) compressor.

The wiring diagram does show a relay on the circuit board which I thought controlled the compressor. |

Page 20 in the manual near the compressor on the AC PCB Assembly, it is marked RY-COMP.
If I am out to lunch on this one could you explain what the function of this relay is Thanks in advance

denman Yes upon further examination it is a switch (solid state) . This switch is between L2 and the overload. What purpose it serves is another question as it is not between any compressor windings.
