I am trying to remove the agitator on my old maytag A511. The charts show a bolt in side of agitator. I find no such bolt. Was there more than one series of this module. Serial No 111314 LC. Do I just try to pry the agitator loose or what?

NO!! There IS a 1/4" headed screw half way down the side of the agitator!!!!! I know it might hard to see. It should be a little more than 1/2 way down the side. I'm quite sure you'll find it, If not, give it a RIP and see if it will come off!!!

Dear Draggs 1998, I searcher the agitator completely. There is no
bolt, nut or screw. What do you mean by give it a rip?

Remove the softener cup. The section it comes out of just pops off. Inside the remaining section is a 1/2 inch bolt. Unscrew this and the agitator will come right off.

Dear Magician59 there is no bolt inside of agitator. Only thing I can see
is plastic that is part of agitator.

If no inside bolt, and no side screw (located just above the base, where it begins to sweep upward), then you should be able to pull it directly off. You may need to rock it side to side as you're pulling up.

You can also use a rope and 2X4 to pry it off.
