This washer was installed in January 2008, by January 2010 it had problems and needed a new transmission. It just recently now stopped agitating and spinning. My husband took the cover off and the belt at the bottom was intacted and seemed functioning. What could be the problem and is it possible to fix ourselves?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Remove the washer front panel. Locate the signal LED on the motor inverter. Watch its status and post the results.

There doesn't seem to be any LED lights on ours. We've taken off the front panel and located the area same as in the picture you posted, but nothing looking like an LED light. Any ideas?

If there is no LED in the front of the inverter then check for it on the right side. It must be somewhere there.

I figured out how to reset it. Unplugged the machine for 2 minutes then turned it back on and pushed Start. The LED then came on. Seems to now be giving normal blinking signals. It did agitate and did spin!!! Yay!!

Not sure what happened, but for now it is working. I will try a small load in it later today.
