Nat, Is the 'bail arm' also called a 'pivot arm'? There is no picture of this when I look for parts.

No, sorry didn't actually look at your model before posting. your system has a laser type sensor not a bail arm. nat

Switched the wires to the valves and got water in the im, does that mean the valve is good and im is bad? The thing that rotates and dumps the ice out seems to work.

Darren, if the part works that dumps the ice then it's probably your thermostat in the ice maker. your valve seems good! Nat

Sorry I've been gone for a few days and just saw your response, thanks for the feedback. So if its the thermostat can I replace that only? Its a Whirlpool with the ice container auger in the door.

Darren, Yes, part # AP3135377, you can test with an ohm meter first. Are your emitter lights flashing? If not they could also be the problem (part# AP3137510)

I have a Whirlpool model ED5LHAXMT10. I get water from the door but the ice maker is empty. Can it be that the water line is frozen? Are there two water lines? 1 for water dispenser (working) AND 1 for the ice maker (not working)?

It's possible that the line into the icemaker is frozen or one side of the valve is out, try switching the leads on the valve and pressing the dispenser to see if you get water in the ice maker. If you do then the line isn't frozen. And we can direct you to a different test.
