One more thing Nat, ... to you and everyone there. Have yet to be on a web-sight where people were as of much help and as friendly as here. I'm sure I speak for others as well as myself when I say "GREAT GOING"! It's contacts like this that make one return when the time needs it. Keep up the good work and the great personality of this page!:)

I'm sure everyone all the volunteers from around the country that post on this site to help others thank you for the compliment. These blogs are the only affilliation most uf us have with appliancepartspros.com, a lot of us own our own business in our areas or at least tech's for someone else. It's my nature to help people with what little I know, and what I don't know I ask my husband when he's not out on a service call. Nat (Natalie) Nat

Hello Natalie and Gene !!
We've tried everything one could conceive, ... no luck! The door still will not in-gage, even with the inner body free. Again, the kid (my son) thinks it's the shell and the door itself. Feels it's much to "wobbly".
So, ... to make the weekend great, ... 2 cats ... both delivered within' 3 days ... 11 kittens to tend to. Jesus ______ !! There seems no end to this. So from here where do I go?
Can't imagine a problem with the "shells" of the door or chamber (wash unit itself). Please give me some direction as I'm ready to hang myself!!!!:)

Forgot to mention, ... true to Gene's though ... "good feeling" on the son, but at this point, his guess is as good as mine. I'm ready to add to a credit card already at the high point (which we can't afford) for a system or a kid who will do the dishes by hand for a pack of smokes!!! YIKES!

Hello Natalie and Gene ...
Just thought I'd bring you up to date on our dishwasher situation. Received the door latch in speedy time. Son went to work on it and it was installed without any problems. Still didn't run.
Last evening I borrowed a GOOD quality multi-meter from work and tonight I went to re-check the switches (there are 2) and one on the new door latch feel apart while I tried to disconnect it's lead wire. Still had the old switches from the "old assembly", so I checked their continuity open and closed, appeared to be fine. Checked the door latch action itself independent of mounting in door frame, it too fit well. Put on panel to inner door, ... nothing. Re opened the works, reversed the wires to the switches and she's running now. My son insists he connected the switches as they were removed. My question is, after pumping, no problem. I thought the pump might run in the opposite direction. If not, beside a lower life on the motor ... is there a true rule as to POS/ NEG connections on these door switches? The unit is still running on it's first test but a second might prove the problem presenting itself again. At least I know the unit is getting power. Any advice?
Thanks again for all your help! You guys are the best!!
Paul

Hi Paul,
There are two door switches: one for the hot line and another one for the neutral. So incoming and outgoing hot wires have to be connected to one of the switches and the neutral pair of wires - to the another one. Be sure the black wire is hot and the white wire is neutral.

Hi again Gene, It ran for a bit but only in the normal cycle. It was okay for glassware and utensils. However, as of yesterday, the unit stopped working again. I just can't figure it out. Any advice you can offer will of course be greatly appreciated as we can't go the expense of another ... my auto's muffler was lost on the highway and my little '97 Saturn sounds like a beefed up Honda (minus the BOOM box).

Hello again (and again ...)
Just have to mention this event. Tonight I was checking this unit out, ... got under it, pulled the float switch, cleaned it, put it back and got a full panal light up with two pads pushed. Then I got curious and started grabbin' the door, shifting it this way and that (not hard as I only weight 150) side to side, a bit up and down and I got a blue spark from underneath from the facing right side.
Think there could be a dirty contact? Would this isolate a one mode operation?
How about a short at the box? Perhaps got wet? Oxidized a bit? Still can see a pattern for an one operation mode.
Perhaps the panal control pad is bad???
Hope for your advice!
Best, Paul

Hi Paul,
Remove the bottom panel. Open the junction box (on the right side) and check condition of wires and proper connections. Be sure the black (hot) wire from the power cord is tight connected to the black dishwasher wire and the white (neutral) wire from the power cord is connected to the white dishwasher wire.
Gene.
