Hi. I'm trying to fix a front load washer for a friend of mine who is sick. Symptom: will fill but not agitate. Error code: following Tech Sheet, get error E5E -- communication; "check wiring between control board and speed control".
Problem: can't see the speed control (aka motor control?) on diagrams -- it's pictured in an insert, but where in the cabinet is it? Put differently, I understand that I'll check the harness connecting at the main control board, but I was hoping to know in advance where that harness will go -- front, back, up, down, left, right?
Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

The service manual was exactly what I needed; it turned out to be a loose connection from the wire harness <--> J2 on the speed control unit. It doesn't use clips or a firm connector -- it just slides over contacts embedded in the circuit board. The harness had just worked it's way off of some of the contacts.
And thanks to having the manual, that point was the one I was guessing it was -- and it was the easiest one to get to as well. Thanks again.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. I'm having about the same problem. Click on "find parts" on this site and type in your model number. It should be part #1 towards the top right behind the controls.Hope this helps. S.Nielson
