Got a new coil kit last night, installed it, and the dryer works!

You are welcome. I'm glad you were able to fix it. A bad coils is the most common problem with all gas dryers.

Gene,
I have checked the exhaust pipe and everything is clear. The problem still exist, which it takes 2 40 plus min to dry the clothing. What else can I check?

Clean the lint chute and check the blower wheel. Try to disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run a load to see if there is any difference. Longer time to dry in most cases caused by restricted air flow because all moister stays inside the dryer. Gene.

I just took the pipe off the wall and had it run for a few minutes and hot air does come off the pipe. How should I test the blower wheel?

Take it off the dryer and run a full load to see how long it will take.

Gene,
I have cleaned out the link chute and checked the blower wheel (it seems ok). But still need to run more than 2 cycles to dry clothing (with disconnected vent hose). What else can I check?

My dryer is acting the same way. It fires, but doesn't refire. I've checked the vent and its open and blowing freely. I'm not sure what I should check next. Please help

Remove the plug on the left side of the front panel and check how the flame is reigniting. If it does not reignite every time when the igniter glows then the problem is a bad gas valve coils. If it does reignite properly but the flame stays on much less than a minute, the problem can be a bad high limit thermostat (#15 on the diagram) or a clogged (rusted) lint screen. - The coil kit Part number: AP3094251
