The door locked on my washer & I could nt get it to open after pushing the door realse switch. So I broke the latch forciing the door open I replaced the switch. I put the washer in the clean washer mode & all that happened was the door locked & is stuck now. other then the light on the control panel nothing happened no movement or anything. So in a nut shell I have a washer that won't do anything & the door is stuck closed & will not respond in any way to controls.

If the unit is less than a year old call Whirlpool and have a tech come out. Nat

Chances are it's older than a year old so, no. Sounds like the door lock itself maybe messed up. Did you get an error code? I wll try to do a little checking on that issue for you. Nat

If you remove the bottom plate on the front you should then be able to reach up and un plug the door switch wires to open the door. If you are going to check the CCU, try cleaning the contacts, being careful not to bend them, with a pencil eraser. Sometimes corrosion can cause an issue. Let me know if I can help further. Nat
