I couldnt find the motor at the local sears parts store, so I placed an order for it on this website (Part# 12002744) along with a 28" brush to clean coils underneath. I will post the results once I replace it by the end of the week.

I tried opening the back panel inside the freezer to access the evap motor but there is a small device on the right side with a cable and I don't know how to unhook it and remove the device ? I am attaching the below the pictures. The first one shows the device on the right side (which looks like air refresher) and the 2nd picture shows the cable attached behind the panel. Any help is really appreciated.

That cover will snap off the front and attached to it you will find the temp probe. Be careful you will see how it unsnaps. Then the probe will slide out thru the hole in the metal panel and you should be able to ease the panel out at that point. Just don't forget to reinstall the probe back thru that hole before you put the panel back into place! Good Luck, you are going to get it repaired.

I just got the new replacement motor and I have a problem with wire connection. The new motor has pins and I don't know which wire goes where. The old motor is sealed, so there is no issue with wire connections. I just need to know where the blue and white wires goes. I have marked the pins on the below pictures with colors. I would really appreciate if anyone can comment on it.

This is a 120 volts AC motor, so it does not matter which wire where goes.
If there are any complications with a plugs, just eliminate them and hard wire the motor using a wire nuts.

Hello all,
I'm visiting my elderly father overseas and his Kenmore side-by-side model 106.57362702 doesn't seem to be working very well. He shipped it over from the States and it had been working fine for a couple years. Yesterday I cleaned all the coils below the fridge hoping that it would solve the problem.
The freezer freezes everything just fine, there is a very minute patch of frost on the upper right hand side in the back, but that's it. It's so fine that if I were to scrape it off it'd fill less than a small thimble.
The fridge used to work great a few months back, freezing things on the top shelf and chilling the heck out of all the drink containers down below. Now there is tremendous condensation dripping from the vent in the upper rleft hand corner of the fridge, and the fridge is unevenly cold - for example, the shelves from top to bottom are mild, cool, cold, colder working their way down - but still not very cold. Matter of fact, both of the drawers that store vegetables are basically warm. The door is hardly cold as well.
I read the last 8-pages of suggestions and tried to figure it out, but the ice maker seems to cause a problem for me removing any panels to check coils/fans etc in the back of the freezer. Any suggestions?
What's worse is that because he lives overseas they don't even sell Kenmore replacement parts so I'm not sure what to tell him. Even if I can locate the problem we're still up the creek without a paddle.

You have to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and inspect how the evaporator coils are covered with snow.

Gene. Hi Gene, Thanks for the response. The freezer looks rather complex to me, unfortunately. I am having difficulty pulling the shelves out, let alone getting past the ice maker/dispenser. Is there a Kenmore "how to remove the panel schematic" for the model I'm dealing with? Thanks, JC

There is no a such manuals but there is nothing complicated if you know how to handle a simple tools.
