Steven,
Are you sure the evaporator is frosted up? Normally it suppose to be covered with a thin snow.
Gene.

Steven,
So far it looks good. As long as it is not blocking the air flow, it's fine.

Gene. Hi Gene, So, it is not the defrost problem that causes the fresh food section not cold enough? Steven

Gene, I have a kenmore Trio 59675523400. bottom freezer, the freezer is working fine, the damper is working, their is not an obstruction in the airway up the back of the fridge. The Evap fan is running (although I don't think it is runs very fast, but I have nothing to compare it to?) Do you have any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance.

Chuck, I'm afraid I did not get clear what is the problem you are looking for help with? Gene.

Gene, Kenmore Elite Trio Model 596.75523400 (Amana made) It is a bottom freezer / top fridge. The bottom is freezing fine, the top is not cooling. I checked the damper, it is working fine, the evap fan is kicking on (although I don't think it runs real fast, but I don't know what to compare it to), the evap coils were not froze with ice. The air duct from the freezer up to the damper is not blocked. Just don't want to start changing parts, if you have any ideas it would be appreciated. Unit is about 5 yrs. old. and everything is clean. Thanks Chuck

Gene,
By the time I saw them there was no frost. But I did not pull of that panel right after I unplug it. There was moisture on them.
I went ahead and plugged the fridge back in, it has been off most of the day. I left the fan cover off so I could see the fan spinning. While the compressor was running the evaporation fan (fan the blows air up to thru the damper into the fridge) was not running, so I reached in and flicked it with my finger to start it and it started turning, I still don't think it rotates very fast but I don't have an RPM gun to tell you how fast it is turning. I am going to let the unit stay on overnight and see how cold everything is in the morning.
...Next Morning. Opened the freezer the fan was not running, I flicked it again with my finger and it started. The fins on the evaporator had a light frost on them, more on the top than on the bottom. I am leaning towards the fan being the issue. I could pull it and see if giving it 110V direct makes it run normally, if it does, then it is probably something else. Any thoughts?
With direct 110V the fan did not start unless I helped it. My sears manual part # was 67003917, the updated Part # is 12002744. I found the part locally at a appliance repair store and it running like a top. Hope this info helps someone else. Thanks Chuck
