Check the back of the freezer compartment for frost or ice build up, you may need to remove the back panel. if present then locate the defrost timer in the control section of the frig and advance unitl the unit kicks off. If ater a complete turn it doesn't kick off replace the defrost thermostat in the freezer section. if it does kick off and the unit starts to defrost then your timer is stuck needs replaced. Use a hair dryer to defrost the coils in the freezer.

Thanks, your advice was 100% corrective!!! I am having some difficulty in finding the defrost thermostat for this model, but I shall keep looking.

It should be by the evaporator coils in the back of the freezer.
