My washing machine (Whirlpool LSR7233EQ0) will not automatically advance to the next cycle. I can manually advance the timer and the cycles work just fine. I am not sure if I need to replace the timer or if I need a new lid switch assembly with leads. Can you help?

Is it the same in all the cycles? Does it stop in the same place every time?

It is not the same in all cycles. The machine will start agitating after it fills to the correct water level but sometimes stops there. I have to manually adjust it to drain and then again to spin. However, sometimes it will automatically drain and go into the spin cycle. Other times, after filling a 2nd time (rinse cycle), the washer will stop and not automatically start agitating again.

It sounds like you have a bad timer.
