My glass top has cracked for the 2nd time near the large 8" right burner.
I have replaced the glass top again, but have noticed the sometimes I have no control of this burner, even at the lowest setting it will burn food.
With the last top replacement, it was recomended to replace the infinite sw (since this is not available for the 8" burner) I replaced the 8" limiter kit (twice) neither kit works at all. If I install the original one, it works but still have no control. Where do I go from here?

Ok sorry, my mistake. Let me start from scratch. My 8" burner (most of the time) is uncontrolable. It most of the time, glows solid red & does not turn off even at the lowest setting. Can you tell me what I should replace? I just put in another glass that cracked in the same area and I wanted to fix the "control problem" of this burner.

When did you replace it last time?

What is the part number of the limiter kit you installed?

What is the serial number of the range?

Gene.

P.S. I'm just a volunteer on this forum and I do not work for Appliance Parts Pros.

According to the part number you posted this is actually the whole heating element kit and not just a limiter kit as you said previously. This element wiring can be different with the old one and that's why it probably did not work.

Most likely the problem is a bad infinite switch and hopefully the new switch will fix this problem.

Gene.
P.S. Do not rush with the heating element kit return. You might need it too.
