Thank you for your help! I appreciate it. Part ordered and my husband is going to give it a try.

Interestingly, he talked to a rep at Whirlpool and then the corporate office and they deny knowing anything about a problem with the cleaning cycle killing KitchenAid ovens.....unbelievable! I'm going to write them a letter and direct them to this forum and the one on facebook.

Again, many thanks to Gene and teocjr for info on this problem. I posted a YouTube video YouTube - KitchenAid Superba Wall Oven DIY Repair that may be helpful to DIY folks.

Joy...let me know what happens with your corporate letter! It is clear that this is a widespread problem.

I have followed this thread and have removed control panel, got top oven open, found model number : KEBS278DSS6
I am in the middle of this repair now and would like to know how I can tell if my thermal fuse is blown? Forgive my ignorance. Should I just order the part and see if it works with a new one? Thank you for all of your posts and help! It is much appreciated.

~Carrie

Carrie,

If the display is blank then you have to replace both thermal fuses. One for the control panel. You can identify it by the following picture. The second thermal fuse is for the oven heating circuit. It is located on the back of the oven. So the oven has to be removed from the cabinet to access it.

- The control panel thermal fuse Part number: AP3777386
Part number: AP3777386

- The upper oven thermal fuse Part number: AP3879224

I have purchased the parts from a local parts store and am preparing to remove the oven. The thermal fuse was clearly easy to replace but I am now trying to figure out how to take the door off the oven to pull it out and replace the other one. Any pointers on removing the door? THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

Never mind...just found users guide online. http://shared.whirlpoolc...0Guide%20-%204450571.pdf

Wish me luck on the rest!

I have replaced the thermal fuse in the control panel as well as the thermal shutdown control fuse. Upon turning the breaker back on I am now receiving an error code of PF-27. ANY help is appreciated. Everything has been put back together! ARRRGGGHHHHHHH! I was so impressed with myself! :(
~Carrie

Update: Receiving alternating PF-27 and F2-EO error messages. I understand that the PF-27 says I need an entirely new control board. F2-EO means keypad is not connected. Where do I ensure that the keypad is connected?

Open the control panel and check how the control panel ribbon cable is plugged onto the control board.
