Hi,
I have a 9 year old GE PSC23NGN side by side and the water dispenser is no longer working. We have had numerous issues with the temp staying at the suggest levels and from what the tech said the water line in the door froze and we need to replace the whole door. When the water line freeze do you have to replace the door? Is there a place where I can buy a service manual and simply take the door apart and replace the hose(s)?
Any help is much appreciated. I just can't believe replacing the door for $250 + labor is the best alternative......
By the way GE was out here and couldn't fix the temp and then a local guy came out and got the temps are holding but then the water line froze.
Cheers...

This isn’t one of the models that the doors need replacing. GE makes a heater that will correct the water line freezing part number WR49X10173. If the heater has already been installed then there isn’t much you can do. GE Refrigerators Repair Guide

Hi,
I appreciate the feedback......I need to add a little more to the story.....
We had a local guy come out and he said because the hose in the door is split that we need to replace the door. When you dispense water the water leaks out thru the bottom of the door. (I think it froze and the hose burst.) So what I would like to do is see if there is a way to simply replace the hose. Up until the fridge stopped being able to managed its tempature we never had an issue. It appears to be working correctly again. So is there a website where I can purchase the service manaual to see how the door come apart so I can replace the hose or can you tell me how to take the door a part to replace the hose?

In this case you do have to replace the door to correct this problem. The door cannot be taken apart so you cannot replace the water line. Don't kill the messenger lol.
