I have a GE XL44 stove that the oven recently stopped working. There was a strong odor of gas. I took out the bottom tray and turned the oven on, the igniter was glowing and the burners did light up. I reassembled the oven and it worked for a couple more weeks and then failed to light again with a strong gas odor. It appears the igniter is working, do I need to replace it or something else?

Thanks

Measure the resistance of the glow bar. A good glowbar will read between 50-150 ohms.

I have a GEXL44 Profile. The oven will not light. I hear no gas. I have taken the panel off. The burners on top work. The broiler does not turn on either.

Most likely the problem is a bad Bake igniter. In order to access the part remove the oven floor, the flame spreader and the bottom drawer.

- The part number for the igniter is AP2014008

Here are the break down diagrams for the GE range Model JGBP90MEA2BC
