I replaced the tub and bearings on the wash machine. Now it will only go into the fast spin cycle every once and a while. Everything else seems to work just fine.

Check all the connectors for a loose pin, if ok, pull out the service sheet and check the timer, soap dispenser magnet, and the door latch.

I checked the pins and they seem ok. I tried another used door latch; no spin. I found a tech sheet but not a service sheet. Are these different?

You will need a meter to check things.

I have a multimeter but do not have a lot of experience using it.

Your data sheet should have a chain circuit to check when spin fails. Just check all the items with the ohm meter, remove power first.
