ok so since all looked ok I decided to put most of the washer together and try the spin/agitate...they worked fine....until I put the whole washer together, then it sometimes would agitate and/or spin. When it didn't I had motor hum, do to it not spinning. I took it apart again and noticed to pump leaking and also water dripping on top of the clutch housing.
The pump had something caught in it so I removed that, but I don't no why water is leaking onto the clutch housing and also got into the brake shaft...tightened the spanner nut to tight? please help.....still dunno what part to get to fix the agitate/spin issue...

Yes, you could lightly sand the brake pads, remove any glazed area on the pad(s). But your clutch pad assembly is the more important and likely cause of your problem. If the pads are hanging up,worn down,if the springs are weak, and not applying enough pressure to the clutch, the washer wont spin. That's where you want to start and concentrate your efforts. :) :) :)

ok going to get the clutch pad kit as the clutch housing is fine...then reassemble and give it a go..hopefully that works and the leaks are gone...report back after the part is received and installed

OK, so I received the clutch bands this morning...looks the same as the old one except for no brown marks on the pads of the new band and the spring is much tighter...installing, hoping this resolves the issue..back in a few

After a few test runs before reassembling the basket etc it appears the new clutch band/spring did the trick :-)

Thanks forr all the advice and help...I know that washer backwards and forward now...I was ready to go buy a new machine...spent $30 rather than $300 plus :-)

OK so now the wife was doing a load of laundry....after SEVERAL weeks/loads...and there I smelled a burnt smell...removed the cabinet and the transmission and motor are very warm. The burnt smell is strongest really just by the motor, but I don't see anything melted etc...
Ideas?
