There is a small rust hole in the outer tub located directly on top of one of the pressure points of the baseplate. Looks like the 1 of 7 friction gaskets moved out of place allowing the outer tub and the baseplate pressure point to rub together causing the hole.
Can the tanks be repaired? Since there already exists a hole in the outer tub, I could drill a hole through the baseplate. Then, install a rubber washer and bolt similar to the 4 bolts and rubber washers that are used to attach the outer tub to the baseplate.
Or, maybe weld a patch. But then rust is a concern.
Any ideas?
Thank you

You can try to use an epoxy two part putty together with an aluminum self adhesive tape.
