Icemaker not making ice.
Water in door is fine.
Tried to fill icemaker with water. It made the ice, but doesnt harvest it out.
N - L = 120VAC
H - T Short - made the maker go through its cycle
During a cycle, I connected VM to the leads for the Water Inlet Valve (Icemaker side), and at the appropriate time, it did receive the 120V signal to energize.
I measured the solenoid with an Ohmmeter, and the results of the IM side were equivalent to the Water side.
Still, no water going to IM when signaled.

Do I have an icemaker or water inlet valve issue?

Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

Did it get water during this test?

Make sure the water feeding tube into the ice maker is not frozen. Swap the wires on the water inlet valve, depress the water dispenser lever and see if the ice maker will get water.

No, no water ever flowed.

Do you mean to swap the wires and then force it through another cycle? Otherwise, how does the IM get the energize signal? Perhaps I am missing something.

I blew through the line and heard air coming out, so I dont beleive the line is frozen.

Swapping wires and depressing the water dispenser sent water into the IM. Therefore I presume a Water Inlet Valve, correct?

The water inlet valve looks fine. The ice maker itself is the culprit.

You can order the ice maker Part number: AP4360346
Part number: AP4360346
which comes without the front cover, wire harness and shut off arm,

or the complete kit Part number: AP2984633
Part number: AP2984633

The difference is almost $40

One more final question on this. When water is manually added to the IM, as we did with the earlier test, it makes ice and ejects it to the bin. Are we still looking at the IM as the culprit? If so, what is broken? I have read enough of your posts to understand that repairing the IM is a dumb idea, but curiosity will kill the cat and I like to understand what likely failed in the unit.

Thanks so much for your assistance, it is so greatly appreciated!

From the module, there are copper contacts that ride on copper strips on the backside of the drive gear. As the drive gear rotates, these contacts from the module will make or brake a circuit to the copper strips to generate the ice maker cycle.

According to the test results (H -T short, no water) you posted earlier, the circuit to the water valve does not work.
