Just purchased a main control board-WR55X10942 for my bottom freezer GE - Model GDL20KSABS, instructions state to cut a white wire from the # 2 pin on the 9-pin connector. I do not have a white wire going into the #2 pin, I have white going into the #1, #3 and #4, I have brown going into the #5 and #8, any ideas?

As far as I remember the instructions in step 2 said: "Eliminate thermistor wire in pin 2 of J1 connector. If no wire in pin 2, proceed to step 3". Gene.

So I too had the same clicking problem from the relay on the motherboard. Simple replacement fixed it.
I don't like leaving it at that though - anybody know the function of the relay? I'd like to know what caused it to fail. Was is simply a short lifespan? Maybe the temperature sensor was calling for cooling and then not calling for cooling every second or so, resulting in the relay cycling in possibly requiring another part to change? Is it a seal in relay for the compressor and wasn't picking up in time?
I guess I'm wondering if it was actually the relay at fault or something else that was telling the relay to turn on and off every second, implying that something else may need to be looked at as well so the same thing doesn't happen again a year down the road.

My GE fridge model # GDS20SCSASS is making the same clicking noise from the relay on the mother board. The condenser fan does not come on. If I order both, which should I try first? Or do I have to replace both as a set at the same time? Thanks

On your model you identified two problems. Fan motor and Motherboard. And to be done correctly both will need replaced or the defective motor will take out a new motherboard or a motherboard will take out a new fan, Hope that helps, Technicianseabreeze Appliance 911

Just to add my 2 cents... Most likely the main control board is not covered by GE, but you can call them and verify. There is nothing to lose. The condenser fan motor is not covered in any cases. - The main control board Part number: AP4436216

The control board was covered under the flat rate of $100 ($107.00 w/tax) and it did correct the problem. After GE tech replaced the board, the condenser fan kicked right on. Thanks to all for helping me lower my repair bill. :D

what year was your fridge? My house was built in 2003, so im assuming its in that area. They sent you the part? I actually ordered mine off here. Either way, i saved ALOT by doing it myself.

Just the other day I noticed that the fan that blows on the condenser was barely spinning. I took the fan out and hooked it up to a 12 Volt source and it appeared to run at the speed you would expect it to. Since then I have had portable fans pointed in the back of the fridge until I can find a replacement. In reading through this thread it appears to be a bad board. Can anybody look up to see if this is in any way covered by GE? Model=pfs22sisass, serial=lh042809. I need to find a resolution soon as other things seem to now be failing such as the refrigerator vent flap, etc.
