Recently, it seems that my dishes are not coming out as clean as they used to. It was suggested to try checking the inlet water valve to make sure it's functioning properly. My problem is that I can't seem to find a way to get to it. It's supposed to be behing the lower front kickplate but I can't find screws or any way to remove the kickplate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I don't know. I've never measured it. Would knowing that be an indicator of the possible problem? I can measure it and get back to post the results. Thank you.

Just a thought. Are you talking about the temperature of the water in the washer during the wash cycle or the temperature of the water in my hot water tank?

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDC4100AWX Dishwasher - Convertible | AppliancePartsPros.com

Here is a manual for a similar unit, hopefully it will be close to yours as far as how it is put together.

Most units fill to just under the heating element.
I am not 100% sure on this as there are some that fill to just over the heating element.
Usually if the unit is under filling you will hear the difference as the unit will suck air and cavitate. It then makes a growling noise.

The most common cause of poor wash results is dirty filters/chopper/impeller.
Here is a manual with info on the pump that looks like yours
