My blower wheel comes loose. I tightned it but only last for about 5 minutes. I am about to order a new wheel, screw and clamp. Does this sound like a possible fix or could there be another bad part making it it come loose.

Here are your parts Backsplash, blower & motor assembly replacement parts for General Electric DX4500EA3WW Electric dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comThe parts you listed should fix the problem but would be nice to figure out exactly what is going on. I am assuming that the screw keeps coming loose. Remove the blower wheel and check that the half round hole in it is OK (not partially stripped out or cracked so that it could slip on the motor shaft) Check the threads on the screw to ensure they are not partially stripped. Check that the blower assembly itself is clean and there is nothing that can rub on the blower wheel. Make sure the clip is clipping into the blower wheel. If all OK then perhaps just some loc-tite on the screw threads will solve it. |
