the first thing to check is always the circut breaker. its not unheard of for the boubble pole breaker to have just one leg triped.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this so I can try and get it fixed?

The first thing I would do is check if there is 240 VAC at the dryer wall outlet.

If there is nothing wrong then check for continuity all parts in the heating circuit as shown in the Wiring diagram. Post the results.

I have a Maytag Neptune MDG5500AWW and I just replaced the control board because of a power surge. Before I plug the dryer in is there anything I need to do when I do plug her in?

It's a good idea to use a good surge protector.

I have a whirlpool dryer that is over 10 years old. I need help determining what might be the problem---it will not come on when positioned to the automatic or timed drying cycle. It does however come on when it is on the fluff cycle. Can you help me to try and determine the problem?
