Well, you do not have to buy a new one but you need to find out what is wrong with this one.

Your dryer has thermal protection devices that act like fuses and "blow" when the dryer gets too hot. This is a good thing, since the alternative is burning down your domicile.

You are going to need an electrical testing meter. If you do not have one, you can get one for less than $20.00, or a better solution is to have a friend come over with theirs and do the testing for you, or at least let you borrow it. You will want to do this.

1. Test to see that 120v is coming to each side of the connection block and the neutral (center) wire.

Then unplug the dryer and take off the back (it just unscrews) and test the continuity of these items.
