That yellow jumper puts the heaters in series, this reduces watt density and has a longer life.

The White Wire Is An Extension For The Blue Wire If It Did Not Reach The Heater. With This New Heater You Are Moving The Blue Wire From The Left Side To The Right Side. If You Read The Tech Sheet It Tells You That. With The Old Heater, The Wires Connect On Left And Right. This New Heater The Yellow Wire Connects On The Left And The Blue And Pink Wires Connect On Your Right.

tony...the best way to explain this is like this:regardless of the color of the wire....of the blue and pink wire, only one of these is the hot and the other is a nuetral. now the way the heater works is that electricity goes down the pink wire and plugsinto the right side of the heater, travels through that coil into the yellow wire on the other end where it jumps to the other coil travels back through the other coil and out to the blue wire and back up to the derost thermostat completeing the "series". This is called wiring the heater coils in series. If you don't do it like this, the heater will b urn out almost instantly when it is energized.

as far as the thermostat goes, as long as it is not an electronic thermostat it is simply a two wire hook up and it doesnt matter which one goes where and the probe will go back wherever the old one was at....exactly or it will get false readings

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but a thermostat should only have two wires on the back and it MIGHT have a lug on the frame somewhere that a green ground wire hooks to but other than that the only other thing coming out of it is the copper tubing probe that has the probe bulb on the end and you CERTAINLY DO NOT want to cut that as this will destroy the new thermostat. as I already said, it doesn't make a difference which wire hooks to which wire, because it is just a switch.
