I have a Maytag range oven problem. I replaced the bake element (which was cracked in two) but the element will still not heat up. The broiler works fine.I don't know where to go from here. Please help!

do the rest of the burners work ok? if not, reset your circuit breaker. the element can sometimes blow 1 side of a 220 line and it will light up like it's working, but will only get slightly warm.

if your broil is working normally ,the bake relay on the electronic clock probably shorted, which mean a new clock is needed

Reply to Misterfixall:
On the circuit board behind the clock, there is a melted area and the yellow wire going into the green plug does not show any power. Your suggestion was very helpful. We live in Alberta, Canada so if you have any suggestions for suppliers who ship internationally (parts appear to be cheaper in the US), we would appreciate it. The part cost here is quite expensive so it is not worth fixing unless we find a cheaper supplier. Thanks for your time.
