Refridgerator/Freezer model # GS6SHAXMB00 and it has the infrared eye for detecting if ice is in the hopper. The unit is only a couple of years old and at one time it made ice find, however, now it doesn't make any. I have water hooked up to it and the water dispenser on the door works find for filling up a glass of water, however, no ice is produced. I tried switching the cylanoid wires but no luck. Should there be a light in the eye that glows? Currently there is nothing. I have poured water in the tray and will know this evening if it is harvesting.

I have water in the tray, but it does not eject into the ice container, I am not sure the infrared sensor is working. How can I tell. When the door is closed, there is no light, when open the receiver blinks, when I hold back the spring loaded sensor door so it should make contact there is no change. Should I get a new sender light, or just replace the whole ice maker? It was repaired a year ago, for almost $300, but the cost of a new Ice maker was much less at the time. The Fridge is 5 yrs old.

my ice maker wont dispense, i pusg the lever on the door and the light comes on but no sound and no ice....any help?

Yes I finally got to replace that motor, and yes it is working. Thanks for you quick help, sorry it took me so long to get it done and post a reply
