i just got a decent washer, model#pavt244aww, maytag performa washer and i hooked it up yesterday and started running it, and after it filled up with water it started making a loud buzzing noise, i then put it on the spin cycle to see if i could get the water to drain, still no luck, it was still making the loud buzzing noise, and would not spin or go into any cycle, all it will do is fill up with water, i am wondering if it might be the motor in it? i really dont think its the water pump, but their is always the possibility…. i need help!!!!someone plz help me

well gene i tilted the washer back and took the belt off the motor spins but, im assuming its the water pump, its not doing anything at all, then i put the belt back on and left it leaning back and the horrible noise was coming from the pump towards the back of the washer, do u think i need a new pump?

The pump is the culprit. No doubt about it. This is one of the most common problems with those washers. Maytag had redesigned the pump and it should last longer now. - The drain pump Part number: AP4373022
