See my message of 1/23 about water leaking down float switch tube. I see other people have the same problem on similar machines.
I am thinking there is too much water left in the tub from previous action and with a new fill, it is overfilled causing water to get down the float switch tube during wash action. . Why would ther be water left in the tub? It seems to be dry after the cycle. Could water be coming back in via the siphon drain tube? Any body got any thoughts on this?

I replaced the float switch immediately, but it didn't help. The float switch assembly is working fine, it is all plastic. I would like to take it out and check further, but the float can't be rmoved because of the little flange at the bottom of the stem. It can't be pulled out without breaking something.

The first thing I would do in such situation is replace the float and the standpipe. It will cost you $9.87 (not much :) ) and ensure the problem is not there.

- The part number for the float is AP2920841

- The part number for the standpipe is AP3115179

Gene.

P.S. I would replace the float switch assembly instead or the float switch at the first time.

I would like to have been able to remove float so I could view the condition of the standpipe assembly. The float is captive by the flange at the botton of the float stem so it doesn't float away.. It won't come out withiout cutting off the float stem. It will not pass through the standpipe. How did they get this together?

Gene, I will replace the assemblies and see what happens. She'll just be without the DW until it's fixed. It runs fine except for the little water leakage. Please note that the float you describe for me has a tubular stem coming out of the float head whereas mine has a solid thin stem with a little flange at the bottom of it. Both are listed for my model. Could there be some kind of update on the float? What keeps the floats from floating away? How are they held captive in the standpipe?
