Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/19/2009(UTC) Posts: 1		I have Maytag Performa Dryer and it initially was making a squeaking noise while drying the clothes but then it stopped. So now it makes humming sound but the drum wont turn. Is it the belt?

Replacement parts for MAYTAG PDET910AYW \| AppliancePartsPros.com Here is a service manual http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16026315.pdf Is it the belt? Could be but also could be that the drum is jammed or the motor is toast. Try turning the drum by hand should turn fairly easily. If the motor is shot/jammed it is usually more of a buzz than a hum. Open it up and take a look. Whenever you work on a dryer it is a good idea to give the interior a good cleaning, also clean/check your vent system.
