MY over the counter GE Microwave Model JVM1460AA started beeping on its own and showed a code of "F3" scrolled across the display. None of the buttons on the key panel would clear it and I could not get the unit to do anything. The light inside worked. I reset the circuit breaker (off for 30 secs.) and the unit went through its usual scroll of start up displays and right back to "F3". The owners manual gave no mention of error codes. I called the GE help line & the SVC rep. didnt know what it meant and advised me to call for service tech. Next ,I went online looking for answers and came across this Forum, but my specific problem wasnt listed. I started a Chat w/ Appliance Parts Pros help desk and within 5 mins they told me that "F3" meant a shorted key pad. I ordered the part from them and in 2 days my part arrived and a the new key panel fixed the problem. I used a blow dryer to soften the adhesive on the old panel to remove it and it peeled right off . Thanks APP!

I have exactly the same problem with microwave. It suddenly started beeping, 4 long beeps, then 'time' scrolled across display, then a couple of more short beeps, and lastly display showed F 3  and beeped the 4 long beeps again. I came to this forum and read the posts about it being a shorted keypad. My question is: Is this error code the same on a Frigidaire? If it is, then do you have a diagram that shows the keypad (I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing). Also, when I went to Frigidaire parts they list a control panel , is this the same thing?
