My Maytag Dryer Mo# MDG5500AWW won't start. It reads 18 in the display and does not respond to anything. I took the Circuit Board out and there is a small burned area on the back upper right of the board. Does this mean the circuit board burned out? And did something else cause it or was the circuit board the cause?

Hello, I am having the same problem with my maytag neptune dryer (mdg5500aww). The differrence is that I do not see an error code. In place of the error code is a number indicating the time left to dry. Unfortunately, the dryer won't start, nor will it display the diagnostic codes. I am able to do a membrane check (no issues with the lights), but nothing else when I follow the tech sheet directions.
I purchased a new control board from appliancepartspros, but am having the same problem as before.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hector
