This is the likely situation, given we do not have a model number.

Good news: No way you need to buy a new washer.

If the water stays on even after you turn off the washer, the valves are stuck open, and you need to replace them. A pretty easy and inexpensive job.

If the water stops flow after you shut off the machine, the problem is likely in your water pressure system. First make sure the plastic tube that powers the pressure switch is clear. If it is, and the problem persists, you will need to change out the water pressure switch. A pretty easy and inexpensive job.

If neither or these fix it, re post and tell us what you found out.

If you need more info please post your full model number.
