Order Date: 10/20/08
Order Number: 476388

Hello! Thank you for assisting me. I received a replacement electronic control panel W10116566 ( AP4324754) from Appliancepartspros.com. It replaces part W10110467. I have not connected the new electronic control panel because it is different from W10110467 as it is missing a 4 male pin connection at the base of the new electronic control panel W10116566. Two brown wires that lead to the A.C. heater relay and a white neutral, which are included in a single plug, can not be connected or plugged into the electronic control panel. The connection pins to the A.C. heater relay is missing from the W10116566 electronic control panel, but are included with the original electronic control panel W10110467. Will this part work with the A.C. heater relay bypassed from the electronic control panel W10116566, AP4324754? Should I go ahead and install it? A local appliance parts dealer also provided the same replacement part number, W10116566. No returns for electric parts once power is applied. Thank you, Lloyd Hofer

Parts Division stated that there had been an engineering change but they were not able to specifically identify what the differences were between the original part and the replacement which I received today from AppliancePartsPros.com. So I will go ahead and install it.

Did the replacement part (P/N W10116566) for original P/N W10110467 work for you? You mentioned that the replacement part (W10116566) was missing a 4 pin male connector.

I'm curious because I'm finding conflicting info when I search on the web. Our original P/N is 3976623 which I'm told is replaced by W10110467 which in turn is replaced by W10116566. I'm soooo confused.

What is the complete model number of the dryer?

What is the original problem?

The original problem is that when you push the start button on the Whirlpool dryer it starts up but as soon as you release the start button the dryer stops.

Unfortunately, I do not have the specific model number. The dryer is at my father in laws vacation home in Maine. He doesn't get up there very often and neglected to write down the model number.

We pulled the "Electronic Control Assembly" and it looks like there is a resistor on it that has overheated. The part number of the original board is 3976623

In searching the Internet for info on this board I'm led to believe it was replaced by part number W10110467. I also ran across info that indicated that W10110467 was replaced by W10116566. That's when I saw the posting from LloydHofer indicating there was a difference between the W10110467 and W10116566 boards.

The complete model number is very important to find the correct part. For some models just the control board has to be replaced while some other models required a special kit.

The control board correct Part number: W10110467
Part number: W10110467

which has not been replaced so far.

The control board with the Part number: W10116566
Part number: W10116566

is a different part. These parts are not interchangeable.
