Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 3/28/2009(UTC) Posts: 1,648		If you take the ice bucket out and look behind it you should see a little hole (about an inch) that a metal lever (from the ice bucket) goes into. What happens is when you want cubes a solenoid will lift that rod up. Open the door (with the ice bucket out) press the door switch and press the button to get ice. You should see the solenoid lift up and if you don’t the solenoid may be bad. If it does lift up post back and we will go from there. Refrigerator repair guide

Pull the ice bucket out and attempt to move the metal lever up and down just to be sure that part isn’t stuck. It sounds to me like one of the two parts is stuck either the solenoid or the metal rod. I believe it is the solenoids since it wouldn’t work with the ice bucket out I think the solenoid is bad or frozen.
