You either have no power coming to the dryer. So if you have a volt meter, check the power where the plug goes into the dryer for proper power. You could also try to flip the dryer breaker off and on a few times, and then check it. Also, the door switch could be bad. Tom www.applianceeducator.com:cool:

On a gas dryer, the thermal fuse will only stop the ignitor coil from coming on if it were bad. On an electric dryer it would shut the whole thing down. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

ok then, what do you think the problem is if its NOT the thermal fuse. (it is a gas dryer). as i mentioned, there is NO response to pushing the start button, no matter what settings everything else is on. any ideas???

I wouk jump out the door switch. It usually is not a timer when it is dead! Jump out the door switch, and see if it comes on. If you have a ohm meter, ohm out the thermostats and see if they have continuity. Tom
