Linn, thanks for your post. If you test between the live black wire and the neutral yellow wire, does the reading show about 120 Volts AC, or are you getting a different voltage reading?

The voltage is about the same.

Is the voltage reading somewhere between 118-120 Volts AC?

It’s reading at 118.2.

That should be more than enough voltage for the control to function. What was the original failure that led to the control being replaced? Also, with the new control installed, does it make any beeping sounds, or is it completely unresponsive?

The dryer was functioning normally when load #1 was dried. When the 2nd load was loaded into the drier the dry time button was set for 20 minutes and it lit up as usual. Then the low heat button was set and it lit up as usual. After that the extend tumble was set and it lit up as usual. When the start button was pushed it only clicked and it did not light up. The unit did not respond. That led us to replace the control board after we confirmed we had power into the dryer.

Was the jumper wire from the original control placed onto the new one? I believe it would have gone onto the connection at the bottom right corner of the control.

There is a small jumper lead at the top left hand corner of the board. It was transferred to the new board.

It sounds like the control may be faulty. There is not a DC circuit that would cause a short and if the AC voltage side in the dryer had an issue, it would likely trip a breaker. With this in mind, I would lean towards the control being the issue.

I made sure to wear an electrostatic wrist band the entire time that I handled the new board so what can be done to get the board replaced and will it be handled at no charge to me?
