Kenmore doesn't clean-"Clean " Flashning Seven times

I have a Kenmore dishwasher that appears to go through its cleaning cycle however there is soap residue left in dispenser and dishes are not clean. “Clean” light flashes 7 times–does that refer to a trouble code?

Thanks-Merry Christmas !!

The “Clean” light, flashing 7 times means a problem in the heating circuit.

Reset the control as described in the tech’s sheets (located in a pouch behind the bottom panel).

If it’ll happen again, check the heating element and the high limit thermostat.

The model number you posted is incomplete.

Happy Holidays!

Your hot water may be too cold, just increase temperature.
Open door, within 3 seconds hit high temp. scrub, energy saver dry, then repeat (if no such buttons press similar ones} Close door and press cancel. Good luck,Merry Christmas.

I have the same problem with my Kenmore. How do you reset the dishwasher as stated in the early post. There’s nothing in my tech sheet.
Thanks.

Just follow the directions for Demark above

I was able to reset the flashing green light. There was no error code shown afterwards. Then I ran the normal wash cycle. Took a few minutes
to start. On the screen started at 55, went down to 48 (?) then dropped to 2. Finished out the cycle. Afterwards the flashing green light. I could do the sequence all over again. Neal

Check your service sheet. The dishwasher is sensing a bad heater. Check the heater and heater thermostat.

I’m at work right now, How do I check those items? I’ll check them later this evning. Thanks for your help.

Crunch your model # in this site to get assembly info.

Richappy, Where on this site do you find that info? First time user, Sorry.

I took the themostat off. I checked it with my multimeter. I get 0 ohms. Does that mean its opened or closed? And is that correct? Or is this the faulty part?

Heater thermostat is supposed to be closed at room temperature. Check your heater.

I got a reading of 0 ohms

I have the same problem with my clean light flashing 7 times. I have no tech sheets and no scrub or energy saver buttons to push. the model number is 66516032401. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Just press similar buttons, usually side by side.

Hi Neal

Did you remove at least one wire from the heater before testing the resistance?

If not - you got a wrong reading.

If yes, then the heater is bad and has to be replaced.

In order to find the right part number for the heater I need to know if the tub is made of plastic or stainless still.

Happy New year!

No I didn’t Gene. I will do that and let you know. Thanks

12.8 ohms with both leads off of heater
