GE Profile Repair Question

I have a GE Profile Dryer - DPSR473GW0WW.
Belt is snapped. I found that the front drum bearing is broken.
At a minimum I need to replace the belt, drum bearing and drum slides. Should I replace the felt also?
AP3790641 Front Drum Bearing (313)
AP2041815 Dryer Drum Slide (316) X 2
AP4324040 Belt
AP4319934 Felt

Anything else I should consider replacing (other than the whole dryer) since I have the dryer apart?

What about repair or preventative maintenance manuals - are they available online?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Dan

Dan,

I would also check the rear drum bearing. Very likely it’s worn out as well. Make sure all air ducts and the blower wheel are clean.

Is adhesive required to attach the felt for this dryer?
I have performed maintenance on this dryer before by removed the front panel. Is the removal of the side panels difficult - must be one “hidden” screw - can’t seem to get the panel off. What about grease for the bearing - any recommendations? What about repair manuals - any place on the web to find them?

The answer is - Yes. You can use any kind of a high temperature adhesive.

You do not have to remove a side panels. You have to remove the front panel, the belt and the drum. You can find the disassembly instructions in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dryer-repair/4976-so-noisy-everytime-runs.html

No grease needed.

There are no repair manuals available for this particular model, but you can buy a repair manual for GE dryers. Even if does cover only models through year of 2000, it is still useful for a later models as well because not much has been changed in basic mechanical design since that time.

I picked up a belt from the local appliance repair store, but I attempted to install the belt and it appears to be way too long. I checked the part number AP4324040 and was giving a replacement part number of WE12M29 - appears to be OK. What am I doing wrong?

The following belt diagram might help.
