Gene - My husband installed the part yesterday AM and we’ve given it an entire day to work. Unfortunately, the frig temp isn’t being brought down and the digital display isn’t giving accurate reads. i know this b/c my stand alone frig thermometer is displaying a warmer temp. the freezer is also giving inaccurate reads.
I would like to start over all tests. I need you to follow ALL my instructions and post answers on ALL my questions. Otherwise I would not be able to help you and you will have to call a certified refrigerator tech.
There is a fan inside the freezer. It should work at high speed (about 3000 rpm). You can reach it by removing the evaporator cover (#201 at the diagram) while the refrigerator is still running. At the same time you can see how the evaporator coils are covered with frost.
This is Rebecca’s husband. The fan is barely running and the coils are covered in frost as was most of the inside of the freezer. it appeared as if it wasn’t a frost free freezer.
One other piece of info. the fan is now running much faster than it was when i was disassembling the inside of the freezer with the door open. i have no way to tell if it is 3000 rpms
hi Gene - i appreciate all the help you’ve given us. This morning our freezer temp is -13 and the frig is finally at 37. The part #201 is still detached and the back that covers the coils is leaning against the back of the freezer. We were hoping to hear back from you before we reassembled everything.
Any suggestions or should we just wait and see if the temp remains at 37 in the frig? Is it a problem that the freezer is -13?
