**Model Number:**GSC3500DWW Main Symptom poor cleaning What happens & when: bought used, isn’t working right, and found parts in the drain
The metal part is the impeller, but what migh the two plastic pieces be? These were all in the back right drain cup.
I know the next step is to flip it over, and remove the pump, but I don’t know if that will tell me what else may have broken, and been the source of those pieces.
Alright, I took off the pump. It’s completely intact!?!? This piece that I found inside the dishwasher is stamped with a 1, but the one on the pump isn’t. If that is helpful in figuring out it’s possible source. Maybe they replaced a broken pump, and that’s been in there ever since?
I’m baffled now. I didn’t bother to test the dishwasher after pulling, what appeared to be pieces of it’s pump, out of the drain, and then removed the pump.
The pump appears to be fine. I’m gonna look at the diagram again, because I only saw the one of these pieces in it. I also can’t figure how a broken piece of pump, would have even wound up in the drain there
I can’t get the pump open alone. I’m gonna strip it. As much as I want to believe everything is okay, it was just clogged. The fact that there was the exact same part inside, makes me to cautious. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow, get help, and something with a better edge than my speed square, for the wrench
That’s the right part, but I’m still only seeing the one disposal blade. I got the outer plastic collar to move a little, but still struggling to get it off, and after watching the video there. I just don’t think that there is anything wrong with it, and I’ve decided that I will just put it back together at this point, and run it again, before further mangling the plastic nubs. If I could hear anything, or see any indication of material in there, I’d keep going, but this is more of a case of, taking a look while I have it out.
