My Raised Vent goes up then right back down without doing anything else. I have cleaned the control pad. I can not find the mother board or limit switches. Are they inside doen below? I have tried to remove the entire unit but the cooktop is slightly ontop of the vent lip and I am afraid of breaking it. What is my problem?
Open the cabinet and look for the cover on the right bottom part of the box. The control board should be behind this cover. In order to access the limit switches you have to remove the blower assembly. In order to remove the whole unit you have to remove the cooktop first.
You can find a lot of useful information in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/908-dacor-raised-vent.html and in the Service manual.
The complete model number might help too.

Thanks. I am not comfortable in removing the cooktop. I have a remote external blower. I have to remove some nice carpentry to access the sides so is the main board on the left if I am looking at the back? Will I be able to access the limit switches any other way. I don’t even know if they are my problem. Thanks
I’m not able to give you more specific advise because of incomplete or wrong model number.

Gene, I have a PVR36S with the exact problem. Goes up then down and recycles - can only stop by unplugging. I have replaced both the up and down limit switches and it still does the same thing. Any other ideas?
