Clutch wont disengage after spin cycle

Please make sure to click on General above and select the correct appliance type first.

Brand:GE
**Model Number:**GUD27ESSJ1WW
Main Symptom: Loud clunk and weird motor sound when in agitate
What happens & when: Clutch wont disengage after spin cycle

Error Code (if any): n/a
Parts or tests already tried: I have tried the washer in troubleshoot mode and have shifted between spin and agitate about 10 times trying to recreate the issue that happens during the wash cycle but the clutch assembly will work as normal. Engages during spin and disengages during agitate. But when I run a wash cycle the clutch will engage for the first spin cycle and not disengage when the cycle complete and start agitating with the clutch engaged. I put a multimeter on the clutch assembly motor and it read 5700 ohms. It must be a control board or sensor issue but before I go blindly replacing parts it would be sweet to know if there are any more trouble shooting steps I could take to diagnose exactly what is happening.

Did you do a complete system diagnostics. I have attached a copy of the service manual and the mini manuals for your reference. There is also a service kit for replacing the whole basket assembly.

What is a system diagnostics? I am able to get the clutch and everything to work normally when in troubleshoot mode but will not disengage in a cycle.

It really does sound like a control board issue to me, although I’d be curious to know if there are any stored error codes?
