Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 6/7/2010(UTC) Posts: 2		My dryer is making a horrible grinding noise but does spin. I was able to take the top of it off but I need to look under the drum to see if something is stuck under it. I can't figure out to get the thing apart. Please help.

The following is for the 0AYW unit, Here are your parts Replacement parts for MAYTAG MDE5000AYW Dryer - Ele \| AppliancePartsPros.com And a manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16023110.pdf Grinding is often front glides, Item 8 in Section 7. Of course check all other moving parts. I would also check the belt, rollers etc, might as well give it an overhaul while you have it opened up. Give the interior including the blower wheel a good cleaning. Also clean and check your vent system.
