I have a ge profile dryer that won't start when you try to switch it on. When turning the starter switch it merely makes a humming noise. Also how do I open up the machine to trouble shoot. It sounds like it may be a thermostat, but I can't seem to figure out how to get to the part.

Humms? its too new of a dryer to be a weak motor but check it anyways. open the front door hold the door switch with something and have someone turn the start switch while you try to give the drum a quick counterclockwise turn. If it starts right up and starts spinning the motor is bad.
